The Christmas Market is now open
The Christmas Market has opened its doors and can be visited until 24 December, celebrating a concept inspired by traditional Portuguese regional markets and focused on local offerings.
Hours: 12:00–22:00
This year’s edition brings together 10 wooden stalls covering the full Christmas spirit:
- Book Shop – General books and collectibles.
- “Pasta Natale” – Pasta in a cheese wheel, raclette with cured ham and pickles, polpette, trapizzino and wood-fired focaccia.
- “Crispy Christmas” – Traditional hot dog; vegetarian hot dog (German style); chicken schnitzel; sweet potato chips; homemade chips with oregano; spiral chips; pastrami sandwich.
- Mafraria Confeitaria – Pastry shop with regional Christmas products.
- Mafraria Café – Coffee products (cold drinks, cappuccinos, hot drinks and coffee) – premium coffee sales.
- Hakuna Batata – Homemade fries with various toppings, ready to go.
- Douro’s Flavours – Wines and liqueurs with gift wrapping.
- “A Tasquinha do Natal” – Sandwiches (suckling pig, cured ham, Serra cheese, roasted pork), wood-fired chouriço bread, Sopa da Pedra (traditional Portuguese stone soup) and Caldo Verde (Portuguese kale soup).
- “Sweet Christmas” – Crêpes, waffles, Christmas cookies, cinnamon cookies, cinnamon cakes, sweet pretzels, mini churros, assorted chocolates and caramelized nuts.
- Book Shop – Children’s books.
In addition, there are Christmas animations/activities programmed for families, making the Christmas Market an unmissable stop this season.
